| So I am back in Iraq, back to the place where I was for so long before I came home. I have been back in country for a little while now. It was a weird feeling at first to be back. I find myself thinking about the time that I spent with family and friends. Mostly I find myself thinking about the love of my life Sarah, and what she is doing back home. Then I realize that I have a job to do, and I need to concentrate on it fully until my time out here is done. I hope that you are all doing well back home and can't wait to see you again, and remember that one day I will be home for good. | | |
| Greetings once again from the big, hot sandbox. Life by me is still good. I am still busy everyday, but can't complain because it makes the days go by faster. The temp out here is still rising. I looked at a thermometer today and it read 102 degrees. That's not the warmest that it's been. One day was 130 degrees. It just makes you want to sit there and do nothing. Atleast it's a dry heat. Although it doesn't really matter what kind of heat it is when you have you tactical gear on. I am counting down the days until I get to see everyone again. I can't say what number I am on, but just know that I am counting down the days. I miss you all, and will see you when I see you. | | |
| Greetings once again from Iraq. Life continues as usual around here. There's always work to be done. I find myself not wanting to work, and wishing that there was more down time. Then I realize that if i didn't stay busy that time would seem to be standing still. The weather continues to get warmer with each day. It's gets as warm as 90 degrees some days. There is the ocasional rain storm around here which we look forward to because it brings cooler weather with it. It also keeps the dust to a minimum for the next couple of days. Since I've been here I have met a lot of new guys. Some of them have left, and more have gotten here since I've arrived. There's always a lot to learn out here while there's not a lot going on. I think that I'm finally starting to learn my way around a computer. For the first little bit they always seemed to break whenever I touched them. Now I can actually use them without having to worry about something going wrong. I can't wait until I can see everyone again. This deployment has been so much easier to bear with the help of my amazing girlfriend. Just being able to talk to her when I can has given me something to look forward to while I'm out here. Thank you Baby Girl, I love you! There's not much else going on by me. I would love to answer any questions that you might have, and I will answer them the best that I can. I miss you all and will see you when I see you. | | |
| Well I trust that everyone had a good easter holiday. Lot's of good food, and the traditional easter egg hunt. Also for those who are coming off of spring break, have a great first day back in class. Easter for me was just like any other day out here. We don't get to observe much of a holiday when they come. Mostly it's just work work work. I did get a chance to go to the easter church service out here, and it felt good to take a little break and remind myself what that day was all about. Time by me is going by fast. I can't believe that I've been out here for as long as I have already. Before I know it I'll be coming home for a couple of weeks. It will be a much needed break from everything out here. After that I must return to reality. I can't wait to see everyone when I get home. I hope that everyone is doing well, and that there aren't too many stresses in life right now. Take care and I'll talk to you all soon. | | |
| Hey I'm back. It sure has been awhile since I've been on this thing. All is well by me. I am getting more sleep now than I used to. Things are starting to get better out here. I have more time for the gym and the internet now. I have been trying to call all of the sisters, but found it to be harder than I thought to get a hold of all of them. I have talked to a couple of my friends back home, and they all seem to be doing well, and ready for the end of school year. Other than that not much has happened in the past couple of months. I miss everyone back home, and can't wait to see you again. Take care. Also here are some pictures that I have so far. This is one of the smaller sandstorms that have occurred since I've been here.
These choppers are my main transportation here in Iraq.
Me and my buddy Cpl Ward. We used to watch movies together at night when we were off duty.
These next two pictures show what the base looks like for the most part.
Me and some of the Marines that I worked with for the first part of my deployment. That's all that I have for now. Look for more in the future. | | |
